THEIR’S IS A TIME OF INNOCENCE AND CARRIAGE RIDES, WHEN SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS A KISS COULD RAISE DISAPPROVING EYEBROWS...

Scent of Desire is a captivating and sweet Regency romance that lights up the pages with irrefutable love and unrestrained emotion.

After a tempestuous acquaintance fraught with misconceptions, Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy are at last of one mind and heart. Their betrothal is not without its own difficulties, however, and a single misunderstanding may place all of their future happiness in jeopardy.

By bestselling author Emmaline Hoffmeister, Scent of Desire is a Pride and Prejudice expansion chronicling the six-week engagement of one of the world’s most beloved Jane Austen couples.

Scent of Desire is a Jane Austen Pride and Prejudice variation. It has a lot of kissing and innuendo, with closed door romance scenes.

Fills in the Gaps

This story fills in the gaps between Elizabeth and Darcy becoming engaged and marrying. It shows how their love grew during that time and became strong and steadfast.
I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more books by this author in the future.

Excessively Diverting ;-)

The problem with most Pride & Prejudice fanfic is that the authors just plain stink at writing, and no amount of enthusiasm or Sexy Time scenes can overshadow that for me. But this lady can write, which is a discovery I can only describe as a relief. And she writes dialogue well -- when the characters speak, you have no trouble imagining those words coming out of their mouths. My only writing quibble was the use of words like "outerwear" and "footwear" -- people of that time would have just said "cloak" or "boots." Sometimes in an effort to be old timey, contemporary writers end up sounding like a corporate legal document instead. But it really is a quibble, and didn't hinder my enjoyment in the slightest.

There are no plot twists or shocks here -- just a sweet little fantasy about the characters we love, covering the time from "Dearest, loveliest Elizabeth" to the wedding night.

So Mr.Darcy and Miss Elizabeth Bennet are engaged.

This story was surprising. We're introduced to a couple not just resigned to marry but eagerly looking forward to it. The measure of restraint exhibited was admirable and added to the anticipation. Anyone looking for insight into Mr.Darcy's true feelings will certainly enjoy this story.

Sweet read

For all who yearn to know what ODC experienced in the brief time of engagement. So many JAFF stories focus on events leading up to their becoming engaged or trials and tribulations after they wed that this short, sweet rendition of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth’s engagement when they simply enjoyed each other is delightful and delicious. Just steamy enough to raise eyebrows without being truly scandalous! Quick, easy, no angst read.

Y'all, I was expecting a rough read. I was expecting to abandon this story after a few pages. Instead, I got completely tangled up in this juicy, little, treasure. This story had tenderness, commitment, solidarity and passion. The tension, the hotness without anticipating their vows, made this a giddy confection.
I spent my coins, okay!
